Jerusalem  -  Galilee

CMJ (Christ Church Ministries Jerusalem) fulfils its aim of being a Christian ministry among Jewish people in Israel in seven different ways:

  • Co-operating with local believers in Jesus at each of its centers and in other contexts.
  • Promoting reconciliation between Israeli Believers and Arab Christians, (including Palestinians), Gentiles and Jewish People.
  • Teaching Gentiles about the Jewish roots of the Christian Faith.
  • Informing people about the history of the Society. Jewish historian, Barbara Tuchman, said that the Society's concern for the "restoration of Israel" gives its work "historical importance."
  • Promoting intercession including "for the peace of Jerusalem."
  • Combating anti-Semitism including by correcting misunderstandings and misinformation about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
  • Providing insights into balanced biblical teaching about God's purposes for the future, including his purpose for the Jewish people.

  • VOLUNTEER WORK IN ISRAEL

Living and working in Israel, in what can be a hot climate and in the context of what can be at times a volatile political situation, calls for men and women with a depth and maturity of Christian experience. They will be expected to work loyally in a team and be committed to the vision and aims of CMJ and of the Centre where they will be serving. We are looking for volunteers between 21-60 , although we are prepared to consider applications from students in their 'gap year.' Applicants must be physically fit, as the work is demanding - 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. The shifts are morning/early afternoon or afternoon/evening so there is plenty of free time in which a volunteer can explore the Land. There are two Centers where we can use volunteers.
